Introduction
The MSc program in Economics is designed for those who are unable to continue their studies in formal education system. The main objective of the program is to expose the students to the various aspects of economic theories and their application to the actual economic world. The program further stands to improve the quality and ability by creating self-confidence among the students to analyze and seek scientific solution to economic problems. Further, this program intends to create an analytical capacity among the students required to understand the working of economic systems. It is hoped that the program will help in producing such team of economists who would meet the growing need of the country. The program will also intend to equip the students with the economic tools, enabling them to provide some policy measures for the improvement of prevailing economic conditions in the developing countries in general and Pakistan in particular.
Only being offered for continuing students after Spring 2022 semester
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants having second class (minimum 45% marks) Bachelor Degree in Economics is eligible for admission.
Degree Requirement
For the award of degree of M.Sc. in Economics, a student has to complete the following requirements:
- Sixty (60) credit hours of course / research work within a minimum period of 4 semester (two years)
- Thesis in M.Sc Economic is optional. In lieu of thesis, students can take optional courses of 12 – credit hours offered by the department

Teaching Methodology
The University allots Study Centre and Tutors for the Students to get guideline accordingly. A student has to secure passing marks in Assignments as well as in final exams to successfully complete concerned Educational Programme.

Workshop
There is a mandatory online workshop (for each 3 credit hours course) in each semester. Intensive lectures are delivered by the experts. It also provides an opportunity for the students to share their understanding of course contents with fellow students.
