Associate Professor
Dr Muhammad Kamal Khan
Dr. Khan is an Associate Professor and Chair of English Language and Applied Linguistics at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. He holds a PhD in English and has over 20 years’ experience in English language education and leadership.
A specialist in TESOL, multilingual education, and language policy, he has collaborated with the HEC of Pakistan, the British Council, and RELO Pakistan on large-scale faculty development and curriculum design initiatives.
In 2013-14, he was the provincial coordinator for the Pakistan ELTeach program--a RELO, HEC and National Geographic Learning collaborated teacher training program for faculty and educators across Pakistan.
Dr. Khan brings a rich global perspective through academic affiliations and fellowships in the UK, Türkiye, and the US, including at Newcastle University, Dicle University, Seattle University, and as a Fulbright Scholar at UMD.
With the generous support of RELO Pakistan (US Embassy Islamabad), he founded PakTESOL, a national platform dedicated to the continuous professional development of English language educators in Pakistan.
