Region History

Kohat region was a part of Regional Center Peshawar until November 2014, but in December 2014, Kohat was given the status of a separate region due to the need for students in the area. The AIOU, Kohat Regional Center encatchment includes 5 districts viz a viz Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Orakzai and Kurram with 13 Tehsils, as well as adjacent tribal areas. Total area of Kohat division is about 12,377 km².Facilities provided by the regional center include facilitation center / help desk and library. As per Enrollment in semester Spring 2022 is 13490 and number of registered tutors are 2900 and 20 examination centers are established under RC Kohat

About

The Allama Iqbal Open University was established in May, 1974, with the main objectives of providing educational opportunities to masses and to those who cannot leave their homes and jobs. During all these past years, the University has more than fulfilled this promise.
