Introduction
Through the Master of Philosophy in Special Education (MPhil Special Education) programme, the Department of Special Education prepares leadership personnel to serve the public and private special educational institutes. The focus of the preparation is to develop the skills and knowledge in management, collaboration, supervision, leadership, in-service and preservice education, community service and program evaluation. The program has been designed to accommodate schedule of the working professionals and combine it with the daily online learning environment in the form of afternoon classes. With a consideration of conducting research in urban and culturally diverse special education institutes, we focus on soundness and quality of research. MPhil Special Education program helps to develop the student’s competencies in teaching and research through individual coursework. The faculty has expertise in the wide range of research areas including physical handicaps, language and literacy, developmental disabilities, emotional and behavioral disabilities, teacher preparation and special education policy.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for MPhil Education with Specialization in Special Education must possess a degree of MA Education/MEd Education or MS Ed at least with 2nd Division.
Admission to MPhil Education with specialization in Special Education will be made on merit as per approved criteria, the applicants having MA/MEd in Special Education be given priority.
Selection Process
Selection of the candidates will be made strictly on the basis of merit/criteria laid down by the Department/ University.

Teaching Methodology
The university allocates the tutors against each course for the guidance of the students and connects them through online AAGHI portal of the university. One class is scheduled against each course per week. The assignment submission and evaluation is conducted through the same AAGHI portal. A student must secure passing marks in assignments as well as in final exams to successfully complete the programme.
