Introduction
In this era of technological revolution, education regarding Information Technology and its application is required. The Department of Computer Science, in keeping with the needs of the modern education requirement in technology, is revamping and reintroducing a Bachelor's in Information Technology program. The BS (Information Technology) gives the students an in-depth knowledge of programming, system analysis and software testing. The curriculum of the BS (IT) program includes coursework in computing, mathematic, databases, software development and testing, modeling, introduction to classical Information Technology languages and case studies. The curricula is specifically designed to meet with the requirements of an expert software developer. The program also encourages students to take courses in ethics and social responsibility, with the opportunity to participate in long term projects in which Information Technology.
MISSION
To provide accessible, high-quality Information Technology education that develops technical competence, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The program prepares ethical, innovative, and adaptable IT professionals capable of developing and managing technology-driven solutions, pursuing lifelong learning, and contributing to industry and society.
OBJECTIVES
- Equip students with practical skills in IT infrastructure, networking, databases, operating systems, and information systems.
- Develop analytical and problem-solving skills to identify user and organizational needs and determine appropriate IT solutions.
- Enable students to select, configure, integrate, and manage IT tools, platforms, applications, and technologies.
- Develop competencies in database management, data analytics, information processing, and responsible data handling.
- Promote awareness of cybersecurity, data privacy, professional ethics, and responsible technology use.
- Prepare students to apply emerging technologies, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, to real-world problems.
- Enhance teamwork, communication, project management, and collaboration in multidisciplinary IT environments.
