Dr. Farkhunda Rasheed Choudhary is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Science Education at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad, with over 27.5 years of academic, research, and administrative experience in Pakistan's education sector. Her academic profile features a Ph.D. in Education, an M.Ed., and B.Ed. an M.Sc. in Physics. She leads advancements in science education by developing specialized B.Ed. pathways in Science and STEM Education, authoring and reviewing targeted course units, and establishing school science laboratories. She is an HEC Approved Supervisor and has successfully guided numerous research scholars at the Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.Ed. levels. Her research interests focus on cognitive learning styles, spatial cognition, virtual reality integration, and students' epistemological beliefs and attitudes toward science. Her scholarly excellence is distinguished by consecutive Research Publication Awards (2022–2026), the UNESCO and AIOU Best Teacher Award, a Best Performance Award for Teachers, an international Best Paper Award, and her role as the founding  editor of the Journal of Science Education.

Working as Assistant professor, in the education planning, policy studies and leadership from May 2019 to date.

Worked as Lecturer and Assistant Professor at Allama Iqbal Open university in department of Science Education (March, 2011-May, 2019)

Worked as Lecturer, Advisor (MSED, BSED, BSc) and Lab Incharge, Women's Institute of Science and humanities (WISH), Department of Science and Education.

Worked as lecturer at Fazaia Inter College E-9, Islamabad. 

Worked as visiting lecturer at NICAS.

Worked as Visiting Lecturer at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST) Islamabad Campus.    

Worked as lecturer and lab Incharge at Institute of Business Administration and Technology (IBADAT) formerly Known as Hamdard University, Islamabad campus. Now known University of Lahore.

I have supervised many students at M.ED, M.Phil and Ph.D level. I have also published several research articles related to science education.

Interests:

I am interested in the policy development or policy revision of curricula. My passion is  to develop innovative science curriculum, conduct research and train the science teachers for science teaching by using my educational background, strong organizational and communication skills, and professional experiences.
