Introduction
This department of Arabic is one of the pioneer departments of the university. This department was established in 1974 as an initially part of Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies. Later on this department started its functions as part of the faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies in 1988. The nature of this department is unique and some programmes of Arabic such as ATTC and Arabic Programmes are offered only in this department. Matric to PhD level programmes are offered by the department. The Department of Arabic has been able to revise its courses offered at M.A level with the help of Experts in different disciplines of Arabic similarly ATTC, Arabic Programmes and other courses in the subject are also up-dated accordingly.
Eligibility Criteria
M.A Arabic or equivalent with minimum 2nd division can apply for the admission in Mphil. However, preference will be given to those candidates who have passed all degrees with first division and Arabic as elective subject.
The graduates of HEC's approved Wifaq with the degree of Al Shahdat Al Almia can also apply for admission but they must have B.A from any recognized University & Intermediate and SSC from any recognized Secondary and Intermediate Board.
Selection Process
Selection of the candidates will be made strictly on the basis of merit/criteria laid down by the Department/ University.

Teaching Methodology
The University allots Study Centre and Tutors for the Students to get guideline accordingly. A student has to secure passing marks in Assignments as well as in final exams to successfully complete concerned Educational Programme.
