Introduction

Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a two-semester program. The first semester of the program has six courses while the second semester has four courses including one course of practicum. The Diploma program offered each year in Spring semester.

This program is designed to develop the skills needed to work with children in different settings including preschools, daycare centers, kindergartens and after-school programs. It gives a knowledge which helps to understand how early childhood education and care affect children’s development. A diploma in early childhood education and care also provides extensive knowledge and understanding of the children, families and parenting. The importance of early childhood care and education can be realized as the children grow up with a positive mental setup therefore this diploma program has such courses which enlighten the professionals of ECE for a careful development of children not only in preschools but also at home as parents and family members. The course targets to transform the ECE teachers into trainers who take care of the kids in a personified manner. The practicum course comprises teaching practice in ECE schools with a component of observation of ECE environment which develops the analytical ability of students and provide exposure to learn as a teacher from their supervisors at ECE setup.
