Introduction
The Department was established in 1974 with the name of Industrial Education and on the basis of improved functioning several times and by offering degree level programs in B.E (Telecommunication) & B.Tech (Automobile) the department has been renamed since1998 as Department of Engineering & Technology.
The main objective of the department is to develop and offer technical & vocational courses (credit & noncredit) and degree level programs in Engineering & Technology. The department also engaged to develop and offer highly technical scientific and professional programs/courses to meet the industrial need and to create job opportunities for the specific areas for the specific people.

OPEN TECH PRPOGRAM
The department has initiated a New Open Tech Program since 1994 for the education and technical training of youths who are working as traditional and un-official apprentices in the small-scale industry, auto workshops and other workplaces in the country.
CERTIFICATE TRAINING PROGRAM
The department has also prepared a 03 Months training program in Advanced Training Course in Power & Process Control for holder of Engineering Degree, B.Tech, and D.A.E holder in all disciplines including Agriculture / Food Technology related Studies in Automated Processing System. The training program covers:
- Power & Process Control
- Programmable Logic Control (PLC)
- Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
This program is one of the series of the technical trainings for which the department is producing skillful/trained manpower for industrial need, the training program is being offered in collaboration with Skill Development Council (SDC), Lahore.
The specific objective of the course “Advanced Training Course in Power & Process Control” is to meet the advanced industrial challenges of programming, control, trouble shooting of industries and everyday used software devices in the industry as well as in our life. This 12-week duration course is updated by more focusing on practical along with necessarily required theoretical knowledge keeping in view the present & future need of industrial demand.
